Funding & Awards
Robert Brown Award
Recognising outstanding early-stage investigators in tissue and cell engineering.
About the award
The Robert Brown Award honours Professor Robert Brown’s contribution to tissue engineering and the researchers he inspired. It recognises achievement and future potential, drawing on research outputs, impact, funding, professional development and the quality of the applicant’s presentation at the annual TCES conference.
The published prize includes £250, an invitation to contribute to the Society’s newsletter and, subject to committee availability, mentoring.
Eligibility
According to the published scheme, applicants must be TCES members with a PhD in a tissue engineering-related field; they should not hold a permanent academic position or have received grants or fellowships lasting longer than 12 months. Applicants are shortlisted through annual conference abstract submissions.
How to apply
Submit an abstract to the annual TCES conference, together with a personal statement and CV in the required template, to the awards coordinator, Prof Nicholas Evans. The published deadline aligns with the conference abstract deadline; the next closing date has yet to be confirmed.
