TCES 2026: Celebrating Science, Collaboration and Community in Brighton!
TCES 2026 brought the community together in Brighton from 15–17 June for three days of scientific exchange, discussion and networking. The programme showcased advances across biomaterials, cell–material interactions, regenerative medicine and translational tissue engineering, with strong contributions from early-career researchers through oral and poster presentations.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to share new findings, establish collaborations and celebrate the breadth and quality of research across our community.
We look forward to continuing these conversations when TCES returns in Liverpool in 2027!
Mark Your Calendars: UK-Belgium Joint Research Workshop
We are pleased to announce a 1.5-hour online networking workshop co-hosted by the UK Tissue and Cell Engineering Society (TCES) and the Belgian Society for Tissue Engineering (BSTE), covering biomaterials, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
The virtual workshop will take place on 14th October 2026 at 13:00, and it is a great opportunity to present your work, see cutting-edge current research activities and conduct cross-country speed networking.
We are inviting all early career researchers from the TCES and BSTE societies to submit an abstract for presentation consideration.
If you would like to present your work and/or attend the workshop, please complete the TCES-BSTE Virtual Workshop Registration form. Further details will be available on the form.

Invitation to Submit Research Highlights for Upcoming TCES Newsletters
TCES is always on the lookout for new research developments that can benefit our members.
To this end, we are inviting you to submit news, a research highlight, such as a short summary of a recently published paper or a short piece highlighting a member of your team.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work, share ideas with fellow members, and help promote the advancement of your team members and tissue engineering research.
Submission guidelines:
- Your submission must be clearly related to tissue engineering research.
- Your submission should not exceed 400 words.
- It can include one figure or photo.
Selected submissions will be featured on future TCES newsletters and social media channels (if applicable). Please note that all submissions will be reviewed by the TCES Committee, and we reserve the right to make minor edits for clarity and brevity.

Promoting Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives
Members and students across the North West may be interested in the upcoming Manchester STEM Women Graduate Careers Event, a free networking and careers fair taking place at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, on 21 October 2026.
Designed for women and non-binary students and recent graduates from STEM disciplines, the event provides an excellent opportunity to meet leading employers, explore graduate and internship opportunities, and gain valuable insights into careers across science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Attendees will be able to engage directly with recruitment teams, expand their professional networks and enhance their career prospects in a supportive and inclusive environment.
